Get referred to Tide

1. To claim the reward you first need a Tide referral code from an existing customer. Don’t know any Tide customers? Just click here to use ours. You will always receive the full referral reward when you use one of our links. You could also check the comments section at the bottom of the page for codes submitted by our users.
2. Click the referral link and you will be redirected to the Tide website. Here you will need to click the button labelled “Open an account” to begin the process of opening your account and claiming your cash reward.
3. Next, select whether you are a sole trader or a registered company and proceed through the sign-up process as normal. Take a moment to collect your documents and identification and be ready to scan them and take a photo of yourself to complete the sign-up.
4. You will now need to wait until your account has been approved. Once approved you will need to make valid card transactions to the value of £500 within three months of account opening.
5. Once you have completed the transactions as described above you will be eligible to receive your £50 referral bonus. It should be transferred into your account within 6-8 weeks of the eligibility requirements being met.
6. Now that you’re a Tide bank customer you can generate your own referral code using the steps below and start sharing it with friends and family to earn additional rewards.

1. To begin the referral process you will need to visit the Tide refer a friend page. Here you can log in or, if you don’t already have an account, begin the process of signing up to create a new one.
2. Once logged in you will find your unique referral code. You can also access it via the Tide app or via the email you received upon signup.
3. Share the code with your interested friends and family. Be sure to mention that by signing up via your unique link they will receive a £50 cash reward once they have created their account and met the eligibility requirements.
4. Once your friend has signed up as a new customer they will need to make valid card transactions to the value of £500 within three months of opening their account.
5. Once the £500 eligibility requirement has been met you will be paid your £50 referral reward into your account within 6-8 weeks.

Pros: We’re big fans of Tide and found their referral programme both easy to use and rewarding. While the £50 reward isn’t the most generous offer out there, there are regular promotions that can boost this significantly – one recent promotion paid up to £175, for example. While the programme is self-administrated it was very simple to generate and share the referral code and, while the requirement to spend £500 over three months is quite high, it was easy to track each referral through the Tide website and app.

Cons: As mentioned, there’s an eligibility requirement that the new customer spends £500 in their first 3 months on signing up for Tide. While this isn’t an outlandish figure it does mean that you need to plan ahead and ensure that you will be using the account with a degree of regularity. There’s also currently no information on how many referrals you are eligible to make (though we would assume fair use policies apply) and it can be hard to find a referral code if you don’t know any enterprising business owners with Tide accounts.
