Refer a friend to First Direct

  • Then your friend will need to open their 1st Account and transfer their banking to first direct using the Current Account Switch Service
  • They’ll need to pay in £1000 within 3 months of opening the account for your referral bonus to be paid – you’ll receive it within 28 days of this target being reached.

Get referred to First Direct

  • Get hold of one of your friend’s referral cards – ask them to request them if they haven’t already.
  • There’ll be a number to call on the postcard, call the number to begin the application process.
  • You should now have a newly opened First Direct account – as long as you meet the criteria.
  • Once you’ve paid £1000 into the account you’ll receive your £100 switch bonus. Your friend will receive their £50 bonus too.

First Direct Current Account holders are amongst the most satisfied in the UK, so it’s only natural that you’d want to share that with your friends and family. With their recommend a friend programme you can help them get signed up and receive their £100 switching bonus. As an added incentive you’ll receive £50 for your hard work in bringing them on board.

    • Hi there. The First Direct scheme is still paused while the company runs an internal trial on how best to proceed. The referral page here should be updated once these trials are complete and the new scheme is available to customers.
