  3. Share your code with friends and family. There are some terms & conditions to be aware of, which you can read here.
  4. Your newly referred friends will need to enter their postcode to get a quote, then complete their switch as normal.
  5. Once somebody you have referred has had the direct debit for their first month taken you should see the credit in your account’s balance history.

Octopus Energy launched in 2016 as an alternative to the “big six” suppliers, which dominate the UK’s energy market. Their excellent reviews on TrustPilot and from Which?, fair prices, flexible contracts (no exit fees!) and a focus on green energy have allowed them to snap up over 1.5 million customers and counting.

The Octopus referral program is a generous one. Help your friends and family to sign up as new customers and, once they’ve paid off their first direct debit, you and your newly referred friend will both receive a £50 credit in your accounts. There’s no limit to the number of referrals you can make, so it’s a great way to push down your energy bills and save money.
